This policy explains what information Renaissance Charity (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit renaissancecharity.org or subscribe to our newsletter, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect as little as possible.
Information we collect
- Email address — when you subscribe to our newsletter.
- Email engagement data — basic delivery information such as whether an email was delivered, bounced or marked as spam, to keep our list healthy.
- Correspondence — if you email us, we keep the message so we can respond.
- Website logs — our hosting provider may process standard technical data (such as IP address and browser type) for security and performance. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers on this website.
How we use it
- To send you the newsletter you asked for and occasional updates about our work.
- To respond to your messages and enquiries.
- To maintain deliverability and protect against abuse and fraud.
Our legal basis for processing newsletter data is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate — for example our email delivery provider (Amazon Web Services) and website host (Cloudflare) — under agreements that require them to protect it and use it only on our behalf, or where required by law.
Retention
We keep your email address while you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe, we keep only a suppression record so we never email you again by mistake. You can ask us to delete that too.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@renaissancecharity.org. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and authenticated email (SPF, DKIM and DMARC), to protect your information and prevent others from sending email in our name.
